Hi Yvonne I've read the posts and tell me more about your studs routine. Is he penned up? Has he been used for breeding? Is he broke for riding? I'm a retired farrier and have owned and worked with stallions.I'm going to throw out a few things that will help that you may or may not know just trying to help.First make sure you or your helpers work safely. If you use him for breeding and you are hand breeding not pasture breeding make sure the halter you use is just used when breeding.Another halter for riding ,tying up,ect he will know the difference. He needs handling every day till he has impecable manners.Taking him out and tying him up so he learns that every time he comes out of the pen he not going to be used for breeding [the different halter}.Make sure he's tied up proper so can't get in a wreck or escape.Tie him up so he can see other horses or were there's activity.Keep an eye on him till he will stand quietly a couple hours a day.Do not let him crowd out your space when handling him use as much force as needed. One of the best teachers for a young stud is to put him in with a few bred mares they will teach him some manners. You run the risk of injury because their will some biting and kicking till the pecking order is established but serious injury is rare.Seek professional help if problems persist because I've seen some stallions that became rank over time with out proper handling.Good luck and god bless Rick K.
