Wife goin to phillipines

Postby Rick Talbert on Sun Apr 26, 2009 9:57 pm

Hey everyone. My wife recently told me that she felt the lord wanted her to go on a missions trip to the phillipines with a group of women to run a vacation bible school for the children of some of these villages while others in the group do medical missions. I was excited for her and told her absolutely she could go. Well its not till October, but they have had a few meetings for preperations and she has gone and gotten her passport, and now come to find out this trip is gonna cost quite a bit of money. Whew to be honest I had no idea it'd cost this much. But, I know that the lord will bless us for spending our money (actually its all Gods money right! but he has thankfully put it in my hands, probably for this reason) and her time to spread the Gospel. But her name is Amanda, so if it crosses your mind come October pray the Lord will use her in an awesome way over there, and pray for me cause I'm gonna be left with a 6 year old and a 3 year old to take care of while juggling my workaholic shoeing schedule. Most folks have family or babysitters, but these kids are gonna have to ride with me all day for a couple weeks, so I'm gonna need the Lords help to survive! :o

That sounds awesome Rick,

Is she going to be taking donations for the trip,

If so do you have a paypal account that you could email some of us ???

And we pray right now,
Lord you have made the way,
and we pray
That you continue to reveal what you have in store
for Ricks wife.
Give her the eyes to see it all as a miracle unfolding,
Prepare the hearts of those in the Philippines,
that will see and hear what these folks have for them from You.
Enable many to come to know you,
through there efforts.

And be with Ricks children,
Give them the patience to put up with their father,
.
.
.
And enable Rick to do just fine.
.
.
Lord during that time keep his kids safe,
in those moments when Rick is focused under the horse.
Amen

Rick my friend, I think you'll do just fine.
How much is the flight over ???

Rick
That is a great opportuninity for your wife. Mission trips like that really open our eyes to how good we have it here in the USA. I went on a trip to Africa in 94. What an eye opener! I believe that the Lord will supply all of your needs to see this trip through, even somebody to help you with your kids.

Lord Jesus, we just lift all of Rick's needs to you right now and ask that you would provide everything that they need to make this mission trip a success. We know that YOU are the author and finisher of all things that bring glory to your name and we give you thanks and praise for it in Jesus name, Amen.

Rick, let us know how we can help out or donate money.

hey thanks guys for the support and prayers! I am excited for her, and I am moved by your kind gesture to help out by donating. I've never been on the recieving end of a donation, and I just couldn't accept it, but the fact that you were both eager to help does my heart good to know that there are such good folks as yourself still out there. She will be blessed for doing what she is doing and I'm sure the experience will change her in so many ways for the better. I am willing to shoe a few extra horses and work a little harder so that she can do that. It has been a blessing to watch her grow in the lord. When I met her she would tune me out whenever I brought up God and what being saved meant to me, but the lord got ahold of her one day and she hasn't been the same since. Praise God.
